⚠️ CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS - READ CAREFULLY:

  • Meta Quest 3 headset - Absolutely required. Quest 2/Pro won't work for this course.
  • Development PC: Windows 10/11, 16GB+ RAM, GTX 1060/equivalent or better
  • USB-C cable for connecting Quest 3 to PC (Link cable or quality USB-C cable)
  • Space: 2m × 2m clear play space minimum for VR testing
  • Skills: Basic programming knowledge (C# helpful but not required)
  • 3D experience: Some 3D modeling or Unity experience recommended
🚨 Why Quest 3 specifically? This course uses Quest 3's latest features including improved hand tracking, color passthrough, and spatial computing capabilities. Quest 2/Pro lack these features.

Don't have Quest 3 yet? It's a £480-500 investment. Factor this into your decision. We can discuss payment timing during consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Quest 2 or Quest Pro instead of Quest 3?

No, unfortunately not. This course specifically leverages Quest 3's enhanced features including improved hand tracking, color passthrough, and newer SDK capabilities. Quest 2 and Pro lack these features we'll be teaching.

I don't know C# or Unity. Can I still take this?

Basic programming knowledge is recommended. If you've programmed in any language (Python, JavaScript, etc.), you can pick up C#. We'll teach Unity fundamentals within the course. Complete beginners should consider our Python or Software Development courses first.

Will VR development make me motion sick?

Some people experience initial VR discomfort, but it usually improves with exposure. We teach comfort-first design principles. You'll learn to build comfortable experiences and develop your own "VR legs" gradually. Take breaks as needed during development.

What can I do professionally with VR skills?

VR jobs include: VR developer at game studios, enterprise VR (training/simulation), healthcare VR applications, architectural visualization, education/training content, freelance VR development, and startup opportunities. It's a rapidly growing field.

Can I publish apps to the Meta Store after this course?

Yes! We cover the submission process. Whether your app gets accepted depends on quality and Meta's guidelines, but you'll have the technical skills needed. Many students publish their capstone projects or iterations thereof.

What's the difference between this and the Blender/Three.js course?

The Blender course focuses on 3D modeling and web-based 3D. This VR course focuses on immersive experiences using Unity and Quest 3 hardware. They complement each other but serve different goals. VR development requires VR hardware; web 3D runs in browsers.
